Initial EMS Education
The Emergency Response Training Center is proud to offer initial EMS Education courses at the MFR and EMT-Basic levels. All EMS Initial Education programs taught at the Training Center are approved by the MDHHS Bureau of EMS, Trauma and Preparedness EMS Division. Additionally, we are proud to be operating as a Proprietary School licensed and governed by the Michigan Department of License and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
Successful completion of these EMS Provider courses will allow students to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) exams**. The state of Michigan recognizes the NREMT as the testing and certificaiton outlet for EMS Providers and requires students to successfully complete both the cognitive and psychomotor exams before applying for a license in the state. Each level of EMS Provider certifcation has different cognitive and psychomotor testing procedures. Click for more information on the specific requirements for each level of EMS certification as defined by the NREMT.
